Line Item Conversion for Import Definitions

Mapping Manager provides you with the ability to remove line items from a transaction and assign values when specific conditions are met. For example, if a shipping cost is a line item on the Invoice in the Project but needs to be sent as just a shipping cost and not as a line item, Mapping Manager can create a rule that instructs Transaction Manager to remove that item from the transaction and assign the unit price of that item row as the shipping cost.

To set up a rule to remove a Line Item during an Import and assign values to Transaction Manager:

  1. Under Maps > Partner Maps, select an import map from the grid (such as an Invoice).

  2. Click  Rules on the grid control bar to launch the Rules page for the import map selected.

  3. Click the  control to the left of a specific value under Line Item Conversions or click   New   on the Rules grid control bar. This will launch the Item Conversion Rules page for assigning values to an item record.

  4. To populate the Value (bottom) field of the conversion workspace, select an action that will occur (to populate the Token field) when Conditions are met (that the statement is true) via the Tokens tab.

  5. Select criteria for the line item conversion in the Conditions (top) panel from the middle tab (Invoice in the example above) by dragging over from the left pane. This is used to determine when the condition should execute.

  6. Select a comparison option from   drop-down options and enter a value ('Shipping' in the example above).

  7. Select the Remove Item box to remove the row matching the comparison from the transaction.

  8. Select the Item Level box if this is an item row.

  9. Click  Save on the grid control bar to commit your changes.

  10. Click  Deploy on the Mapping Manager Action Bar to deploy to Transaction Manager.
