Using Address Codes for a Trading Partner

Some trading partners may need to use an address code instead of a regular address when sending transactions. Address codes are used when trading partners want to reduce the number of characters being sent in an EDI transaction. The address code is converted to the actual address by the trading partner's business system.

The codes in the Address List can be either store codes or distribution center (DC) codes. To find out if the address code is required, contact the trading partner.

To use address codes for a trading partner:

  1. Select a trading partner for editing.

  2. Select Translations   on the action bar and then select Address List from the dropdown options. The Address List displays in the Trading Partners workspace.

  3. On the trading partner Address List page, enter the code identified in the Bus Sys Code field

  4. Click the Save to retain the changes.
