Preview/Print Transactions

The Transactions workspace Print Menu provides the option for you to review and or print the details of a selected transaction as a generated PDF. Note that you can also preview transactions via the Transaction Details Page.

Print PDF

To generate, view / print a PDF of a transaction:

  1. Select Transaction Manager > Transactions on the Foundry   Menu to launch the Transactions workspace.

  2. Choose a folder from the transactions menu box.

  3. Select the transaction for printing.

  4. Select Print   on the action bar and then select   PDF.

  5. If generating a single or small number of documents, select Standard PDF from the dropdown menu. Otherwise, if your results are expected to be very large, choose Asynchronous PDF to generate them as a background task. See Standard vs Asynchronous below.

  6. The selected transaction displays in the Print Previewer.

  7. Click   to select a printer or save to PDF.

Standard vs Asynchronous

The basis for generating standard or asynchronous PDFs is the same whether you are printing packing lists, labels or basic transaction documents. In most cases, you will be generating a single or small number of documents directly to PDF. This is where you should choose the Standard option from the (  Packing List Labels, or   PDF) dropdown menu.

Use the Asynchronous option for several (or very large) PDFs where the results are expected to take some time to generate. The asynchronous approach allows you to continue working elsewhere in Transaction Manager while documents are generated as a background task (behind the scenes).

To generate packing lists, labels or selected transactions asynchronously:

  1. Select Print   on the action bar and then select from   Packing List Labels, or   PDF, depending on which documents are selected for printing.

  2. Select Asynchronous PDF (or Asynchronous Labels) from the dropdown options

  3. Enter a unique Async Event Name and then click Start Event.

The name you provide here will make it easier to find the generated content to be printed afterwards.

  4. Select Transaction Manager > System Activity on the Foundry   Menu to launch the Asynchronous Events grid.

  5. Select the newly created event from the grid and then select   View on the action bar.

The selected event displays (multiple pages) in the Print Previewer.

  6. Click   to select a printer or save to PDF.
